1. Overview
Pod2Reels ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Data We Collect
Account data
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address via Firebase Authentication. We store these in our database to create and manage your account.
Usage data
We store the YouTube URLs you submit, the transcripts fetched from those videos, the AI-identified clip segments, and your credit balance and usage history. This data is needed to run the Service and display your job history.
Analytics data
We use PostHog to collect anonymised product analytics — which features you use, button clicks, and general usage patterns. This helps us improve the product. No personally identifiable information is shared with PostHog beyond what PostHog's standard SDK captures (e.g. a pseudonymous user ID linked to your Firebase UID).
Payment data
We do not store payment card details. Payments are handled by our payment processor (Gumroad). We receive only a purchase confirmation with your email address to upgrade your account plan.
3. Data We Do NOT Store
- Raw video files — YouTube video bytes are downloaded only during clip processing and deleted immediately after. We do not retain source video footage.
- Passwords — Authentication is handled entirely by Firebase/Google. We never see your password.
- Third-party account credentials — We do not ask for your YouTube login or any social media credentials.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- To manage your account, credits, and job history
- To send transactional communications (e.g. account issues) — we do not send marketing emails
- To detect and prevent abuse or fraud
- To comply with legal obligations
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Pod2Reels:

6. Data Retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us. Generated clips stored in Cloudflare R2 are accessible via time-limited signed URLs; we may delete clip files after a reasonable period (typically 30 days) to manage storage costs.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@pod2reels.com and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication (Firebase session tokens) and analytics cookies via PostHog. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser, but this may prevent you from signing in.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
